Hi! My name is Pani. Farsi (Persian) is my mother language, and I’m currently living in LA, California as a newcomer. I have a background with a master’s degree in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and I’m working hard to build my professional life here. I am currently seeking a native French speaker to practice my French while my current language partner is taking a pause. I’m retired, travel often to France and more recently, Italy. I don’t have too much availability so am just able to handle one exchange at the present moment. I’m a gardener, work out most days, follow the work of Dr. Joe Dispenza and am happiest hanging out with my family and friends in beautiful Southern California. I have been helping a Parisian with his English for the past 8 years (who’s taking a pause)& an Italian from Milano for the past year (ongoing).

Hello everyone, it's great to see you here. I've always believed that language is more than just a tool for communication; it carries a culture's memories, emotions, and values. Through language, we discover not only new people but also new selves.
I'm a Chinese-Filipino, born and raised in Manila. My father is from China, my mother is from the Philippines, so I grew up surrounded by two distinct yet harmoniously coexisting cultures. From a young age, I was surrounded by multiple languages: English at school, Tagalog in daily life, and a little Chinese at home. Over time, English and Tagalog became my strongest languages, while my Mandarin remained distant, like a voice I could understand but not fully respond to.
Now that I'm in the United States, I'm increasingly eager to reconnect with that part of myself. My father's culture, his stories, and the language that shaped his world—all of these are like a bridge I want to cross. I plan to visit his hometown in China one day, not just as a tourist, but as someone who truly understands the meaning of every word there.
That's why I'm here. I want to improve my Mandarin. Not only academically, but also emotionally, through genuine exchanges with those who deeply understand Filipino culture. In return, I'm more than happy to help others practice their English or Tagalog and share the warmth, humor, and kindness of Filipino culture.
I may still be a beginner in conversational Mandarin, but I believe language communication isn't about perfection, but about connection, patience, and a willingness to grow together.
