Hi, I'm Poppy,
I live in Yokohama. I seriously do not want to leave Japan. I am retired, but have been an artist, an engineer, a computer programmer, a photographer, a musician, and probably more. My interests are studying Japanese (obsessively), manga, anime, and the music that goes with them. I speak in flawless, but idiosyncratic, English.
I would like to learn with a female native Japanese speaker. My current Japanese level is low (it takes me a long time to form sentences), but I am very motivated. Ideally, I would like to learn with a woman with whom we can become friends. It is easier for me to talk in person than to a computer screen, but we need to start somewhere.

I live in Yokohama and my hometown is Kobe. I am a PhD researcher in natural sciences at a national institute. I am happy to help people learn Japanese, and I would also like someone to help me improve my English to CEFR B2 level. I enjoy talking in cafés, going for walks and watching Netflix, etc. I don't know much about anime and manga. Sorry about that.

イタリア語I've been interested in English language and use it in my business to communicate with the engineers working in other countries when I was young.
Once I lived in London and went to English language school for foreigners for a year. About 20 years have passed, nowadays I work with people in my country only, haven't been involved in English and I'm probably forgetting a lot of foreign words.
I stayed in Rome and Sicily for some months for sightseeing and Prague for a month for business when I was young. Both were also wonderful and beautiful towns. Especially recently, whenever I see or hear Italian on TV or at work, I feel very nostalgic for that time, and I've started to become interested in Italian again.
