My name is Mary. I'm a disabled artist currently living in the US, but we may be moving outside of the country in the foreseeable future. I have studied French since junior high, but I think my Spanish is better now (though I've only been studying it for a year and a half). I need a lot of work on both, as well as Catalan and Mandarin. I used to have an import business for antiques and folk art, and I've worked in state government and non-profit organizations as well, where I used my Mandarin a lot (oral only, I don't read and write it well.

I am in a long, slow recovery from spine surgery. I hope to be able to grow food in the garden someday, but for now, I'm developing my social practices art projects and surrealist montages, many in collaboration with my husband, who teaches literature and creative writing.
