Creativity, flexibility and, above all, a sense of humour. These are the things which help me get on well at the agency – where I believe I have a reputation as a good ‘team player’.
With 20+ years’ experience in Graphic Design now, it’s been an enjoyable career. After completing my Diplomas back home in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I gained early work experience in the UAE (Ajman and Dubai), before taking on a more senior role at a leading advertising firm in my home country.
I returned to the Middle East in 2015, joining J. Walter Thompson in Doha – subsequently Wunderman Thompson. As a communicator, my multilingual skills have come in handy – being fluent in English, Arabic, Tamil and Sinhala, as well as having a working knowledge of spoken Hindi and Malayalam.
However busy the workload, I always try to remind myself that ‘Nothing is impossible’!
