I am 63 years old, and I spent a career in government relations and public policy analysis. I am currently writing about the impact of public policy on online speech. I have a degree in Medieval English literature and Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin, an MBA from University College Dublin, and an MA in Classics from the University of Exeter. I am pretty widely read and can converse on most subjects, from European and U.S. politics to the Middle East, to the Philosophy of Science, and literature.

I like to read, and walk and to learn from other people about their studies and their experiences.

I'm interested, eventually, in visiting someone in France, preferably about my age or slightly younger who has plenty of time to help me with my French which, at best, is low-intermediate standard. I would be very interested in helping them to improve their English. I have spent my career, essentially writing for a living, including on a few occasions, for for Wall Street Journal so my understanding of what constitutes effective, elegant English communication is good.
