Hello, my name is Aki, and I currently live in Shizuoka, Japan.
I previously worked as an engineer in the automotive manufacturing industry for four years. However, I realized that I want to make better use of my communication skills and passion for languages, so I made a career shift.
I have experience as an online Japanese teacher, and I’ve traveled solo to 11 countries, which helped me build intercultural understanding and adaptability.
Now, I’m especially interested in inbound tourism, hospitality, and community-based activities where I can interact directly with international guests and introduce the real charm of Japan.
I also enjoy outdoor activities and triathlons, so I have strong physical stamina and mental resilience.
My goal is to connect people and places through meaningful experiences and help rediscover the hidden values of local communities.

I’m from Japan, and my native language is Japanese.
I am mainly studying English.
I can only read and write at a basic level so far.
I am also interested in Finnish culture, so I would like to learn Finnish as well.
As for Korean, I still cannot read the writing system, but I have picked up some words from Korean dramas. I like how cute the Korean language sounds.
I enjoy reading books, traveling, and spending quiet time reflecting on things. I study languages not only for communication, but also to understand different ways of thinking and feeling.
I tend to learn slowly and carefully, so I would be happy to exchange messages at a relaxed pace. I look forward to learning from each other.

I've been interested in English language and use it in my business to communicate with the engineers working in other countries when I was young.
Once I lived in London and went to English language school for foreigners for a year. About 20 years have passed, nowadays I work with people in my country only, haven't been involved in English and I'm probably forgetting a lot of foreign words.
I stayed in Rome and Sicily for some months for sightseeing and Prague for a month for business when I was young. Both were also wonderful and beautiful towns. Especially recently, whenever I see or hear Italian on TV or at work, I feel very nostalgic for that time, and I've started to become interested in Italian again.
